A ring sling is small enough to live in your bag and fast enough to use without a second thought. In this video I cover the different shoulder styles, positioning, and what changes as your baby grows from newborn to toddler.

After watching, you'll know the difference between a gathered and a pleated shoulder, what classic, flipped, and rings-on-back actually mean, and how a ring sling carry should feel once it's tightened correctly.
✅ Safety check, every time:
- Close enough to kiss (baby high on your chest)
- Chin off the chest, room to breathe
- Face always in view
- Knees higher than the bum, back supported
One thing worth knowing before you buy: the shoulder style affects how freely you can move your arm. A gathered shoulder spreads the fabric over your upper arm, which limits movement slightly. A pleated or folded shoulder sits more narrowly and frees up your arm more. Worth trying both if you can.
