Moving (June 2026) heavy machine tools isn't easy—but with careful planning, an overhead crane, and plenty of patience, it can be done safely.
In this video I load 4,822 lbs (2,187 kg) of equipment onto my workshop trailer:
• Horizontal milling machine – 2,350 lbs
• Engine lathe – 1,082 lbs
• Small engine lathe – 1,000 lbs
• Cast iron shop heater – 390 lbs
This is another step toward building my dream mobile machine shop, where every machine has its place and the entire workshop can be relocated if needed.
Everything shown in this video was moved and positioned by myself using my homemade setup, overhead crane, and trailer. I built this trailer in 2024 specifically to become the foundation of my future mobile machine shop and to carry these heavy machines.
