Making Dies for the Blacksmith Helper (Tools and Process Ep. 3)

Niels Provos Guide 6 years ago

Descrizione

I was going to make a video on forging a kitchen knife with integral bolsters but realized that I did not have all the right tools at the shop. I missed a special die for blacksmith helper. Watch me make a split die: one half is a chisel with a 45 degree angle and the other half is just completely flat.

Materials: 7.5in of 2.5in x 3/4in mild steel.
Tools used: Metal saw, belt sander and files, case hardening compound
