Day 6 – Ketchikan, Alaska | Tongass National Forest + Behind‑the‑Scenes Ship Tour
Once we arrived in Ketchikan, we grabbed a shuttle out to the Tongass National Forest for one of the most fun excursions of the trip — riding side‑by‑sides (or “karts,” as the locals call them) through the forest. Mud, rain, trees, and that classic Alaska air. It was the perfect way to wrap up our time in port.
In the evening, we had dinner at Bistro, the French specialty restaurant onboard the Norwegian Bliss. Cozy, quiet, and easily one of our favorite meals of the week.
The next morning came with the part we were all avoiding — saying goodbye to Shelly and Russell. They gifted us this cruise, and getting to share the week with them made every day better.
One of the excursions Russell and Scott did together was the Behind‑the‑Scenes Tour of the Norwegian Bliss. They explored the areas you never see when you’re just having fun on a ship — crew-only hallways, operational rooms, and the inner workings that keep everything running. Scott wasn’t allowed to record most of it, but he did capture a few small clips to show you a peek at what they saw.
