Description
Our time at South Beach Campground in Olympic National Park wraps up, and we continue our travels along Highway 101 toward Kalaloch Campground, arriving just after it switches to F/F (first‑come/first‑serve).
Because of the temporary HOH River bridge closure, Kalaloch is unusually empty — giving us a rare chance to secure our favorite site with only a short wait. Once we settle in, we discover something unexpected: a thoughtful gift left on our picnic table from total strangers camping nearby.
And then… something even crazier. Somewhere in our campsite, someone previously burned a tiny Bigfoot branding mark into the wood. Actually, two of them. Teri teases the viewers with, “Do you see it? It’s big and hairy… and there are two of them,” while pointing the camera out toward the scene — leaving it up to YOU to spot it. It’s a fun little mystery tucked into a peaceful coastal stay.
To return the kindness from our camping neighbors, Teri makes a plate of homemade peanut butter cookies in the RV oven. We show the finished cookies — not the baking process. You’ll have to come back another day for the three‑ingredient cookie recipe and to see how the RV oven handles baking.
Before cookie time, we enjoy chicken salad sandwiches, and we’d love to hear your favorite chicken salad recipe. Teri might pick a few viewer submissions to make in a future episode. Scott splits wood for upcoming campfires, and we settle into another peaceful stretch of coastal camping at Kalaloch.
If you enjoy real‑life RV travel, F/F campground strategy, unexpected campground surprises, and heartwarming moments between strangers, you’re right here with us.
