In Jamaican folklore, the three-legged donkey is a manifestation of the Rolling Calf, a malevolent "duppy" (ghost or restless spirit) often said to take the form of a deformed, fiery-eyed creature. While often described as a massive bull or goat with chains, it is sometimes referred to as a three-legged creature or associated with "three-footed" apparitions in Caribbean folklore
