Description
Thanksgiving and Christmas will be here before we know it, and many of us are already thinking about the people we'll welcome into our homes.
But preparing for guests is about more than cleaning the house, decorating the table, or making sure the guest towels match.
It's about making room.
Room at the table. Room in the refrigerator and freezer. Room in the budget. Room in our schedules. And room in our hearts.
This week on The Modern Home Economist, join me and Leona as we talk about preparing our homes for the holiday season with thoughtfulness, practical planning, and a spirit of hospitality.
We'll discuss:
Getting guest rooms, bathrooms, and household linens ready
Preparing the kitchen, serving pieces, and meal plans
Making overnight guests feel comfortable
Planning for hospitality without overspending
Simplifying expectations so we can enjoy the people who gather with us
Understanding the difference between hospitality and entertaining
Whether you're expecting a houseful of family, welcoming a few friends, or simply wanting to create a more inviting home, we hope you'll join us.
Our Porch Conversation:
When people come to your home, what do you hope they feel?
And don't forget! Saturday, October 24, at 12 Noon Eastern, we'll be LIVE making soft, fluffy homemade dinner rolls from scratch—just in time to practice for Thanksgiving!
