The transition from aimless “noodling” to sounding good requires a move from random note exploration to more intentional playing. Guitar students can achieve this in two steps.
The first is to incorporate simple backing riffs with a richer more sophisticated harmony. The lesson achieves this with “add2” and “flat 5” chords.
The second is phrasing with dyads and off-beat rhythmic feel (syncopation). The lesson backing track will help develop a consistent practice routine for these skills.
