► Understanding hepatitis and liver function tests is a must-know topic for medical exams and clinical practice. In this lecture, we break down how to approach abnormal liver labs and confidently interpret hepatitis B serology, one of the most commonly tested concepts on the USMLE.

Instead of memorizing isolated facts, you’ll learn a structured clinical reasoning approach to liver disease—starting with injury patterns and ending with real exam-style scenarios.

Here’s what you’ll learn:

🧠 How to identify hepatocellular vs cholestatic liver injury patterns
🧪 How to interpret AST, ALT, ALP, and GGT
🦠 Key differences between hepatitis A, B, C, D, and E
📊 Hepatitis B serology explained step-by-step (HBsAg, Anti-HBs, Anti-HBc, IgM vs IgG)
📉 Acute vs chronic infection vs immunity vs vaccination patterns
⚠️ The “window period” and why it confuses students
💡 Clinical scenarios and exam-style reasoning to apply your knowledge

By the end of this video, you’ll be able to look at hepatitis labs and immediately understand what’s going on clinically—a skill that goes far beyond memorization.
