Description
I found this little woodpecker tucked high in the leaves, quietly going about its day. Even the busiest little bird stops to rest.
Slowing down still doesn’t come naturally to me. My mind likes to keep running even when my body is asking for a break. Life lately hasn’t been the hardest it’s ever been, but it hasn’t been easy either, and I’m learning that pausing on purpose is one of the kindest things I can do for myself.
Maybe you’re a bit like me. If you are, this is your permission to pause. Nothing needs fixing right now.
Two simple things to try:
👀 Look far away. Let your eyes rest on the furthest point you can see, a tree, the sky, the horizon, for three slow breaths. Softening your gaze helps your whole body soften too.
🐦 Find one small living thing. A bird, a leaf moving, a plant on your windowsill. Watch it for a moment. It gently pulls your mind out of tomorrow and back into now.
Take one breath with me before you scroll on. 🤍
