Description
After a fatal Tesla crash in Texas, major media outlets—with their usual disregard for the dead and grieving—rushed to blame Autopilot before the facts were even known.
In this segment, I examine the reporting from such outlets as The New York Times, Reuters, NBC, ABC, Electrek, and others, compare it to how similar crashes involving other driver-assistance systems are covered, and, most importantly, see how they behaved after the true facts were known.
The true facts being that the driver had his foot to the floor, driving 73mph in a residential area.
Was this responsible journalism—or another example of media bias against Tesla and Elon Musk?
