The U.S. Supreme Court has ruled in a major Monsanto/Roundup case—but despite what many headlines and activists claim, the Court did NOT rule that glyphosate is safe, nor did it rule that Monsanto is immune from lawsuits.
So, what did it really say? That's what I covered in our Supreme Court Special—what the decision actually says, why the case was about federal preemption and labeling laws, and why so many commentators have completely misunderstood the ruling.
The state courts actually created a conflict, where the only way Monsanto could have complied was to break federal law!
By the way, glyphosate doesn't cause cancer and IARC's classification is ridiculous. It goes against what other health authorities, including the EPA, WHO, European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), and European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), as well as basically every medical study, have concluded about glyphosate.

This case is frequently being portrayed as a victory for "Big Chemical" or a declaration that Roundup is perfectly safe. In reality, it was a constitutional and regulatory question about who has the authority to require product warnings—the federal government or individual states.
I also discuss the broader issue of how pseudoscience, selective evidence, and sensational claims continue to shape public perception of glyphosate despite decades of scientific review.
