So I tried to speak only in Italian in Rome as somebody who’s never been taught the language 🫣 in my opinion, one of the most entitled things a tourist could do as a guest in a new country is expecting the locals to only speak English with no effort to learn any basic phrases of the language itself so I set myself a challenge to ask for a table for one, order a meal and the bill entirely in Italian as somebody who’s never been taught the language (and relied solely on Google translate!)
I’m currently on a solo trip to Rome and took myself for a solo dinner at Oste Nostro in Trastevere, one of the best neighbourhoods for food in Roma!
