UP 4014 Big Boy returned to Ohio on July 12, 2026 and was met with huge crowds in every small community! My first place I caught them was a mistake to begin with, even though I was recognized immediately. After the train passed I knew I screwed up, bad! I was STUCK for well over an hour.. They left Conway, PA and headed north towards Lake Erie with a whistle stop in Struthers, OH. Near the lake the used the wye and shoved the train back into the Norfolk Southern Conneuat rail yard.

03:51 – Meeting a fan at a random spot.
04:07 – Hearing the first Big Boy horn in the distance.
07:48 – Traveling through Amish country towards Dorset, Ohio.
09:15 – Paying $5 to park in their yard
10:00 – Big Boy UP 4014 passes through Dorset, Ohio.
11:53 – "Wealth distribution" of parking in small towns.
12:54 – Spotting a "pine tree growing inside another tree"
14:14 – The rare "shove move" (reverse) of the Big Boy train.
17:50 – Post-chase dinner at Bob Evans and final thoughts on the day.
