Very Severe Cyclonic Storm Arnab is expected to make landfall between Bapatla and Visakhapatnam, close to south of Yanam, by the forenoon of October 28, the India Meteorological Department said. Winds could reach 125–135 kmph, with gusts up to 150 kmph. Andhra Pradesh faces extremely heavy rainfall, coastal flooding and a storm surge of 1.5–2.5 metres in low-lying areas. Odisha, Telangana, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and eastern Uttar Pradesh are also forecast to receive heavy rainfall over the coming days. Rail and road disruptions are possible.
