Very Severe Cyclonic Storm Arnab continued its landfall process near the Andhra Pradesh coast early Wednesday, threatening coastal districts with strong winds, heavy rainfall and flooding. Narsapur, Kakinada, Machilipatnam and Yanam were among the areas near the storm’s centre. In Andhra Pradesh, Anakapalli, Vizianagaram and Visakhapatnam recorded rainfall exceeding 200 mm at several locations. In Odisha, red alerts were issued for Gajapati and Ganjam, with extremely heavy rainfall forecast. Flash flood risks also threaten Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Puri, Kalahandi and Kandhamal.
