Asha karmi work as rural health workers at the grassroots level. Government-appointed, there is one in every 800-1000 population. Duties and Works:-- ASHA karmis perform roughly 41 government-mandated activities focused on maternal care, child health, and disease control: Maternal and Child Health: Registering pregnant women, facilitating institutional deliveries, and providing newborn care and breastfeeding support. Immunization: Driving community participation for routine vaccinations and tracking child immunization schedules. Disease Control: Assisting with disease surveillance, distributing medicines (e.g., for malaria or tuberculosis), and running health awareness campaigns. While all these programs focus on ASHA workers, the exception is seen in the ASHA workers of Badipali village, Loisingha block, Balangir district.Not even a single day does the Asha worker come to the village, resulting in health-related work failing.
