In this review, we put the Mooncool TK2 through Electric Bike Report’s real-world testing process, including speed, range, hill climbing, braking, ride quality, cargo handling, and display/settings walkthrough.
The TK2 features a 500W rear hub motor, 720Wh battery, 5 pedal assist levels, twist throttle, reverse throttle function, hydraulic disc brakes, 20x3” tires, suspension fork, color display, integrated lights, brake lights, turn signals, front and rear cargo baskets, fenders, and a folding aluminum frame.

At around $1,500, the Mooncool TK2 is one of the most affordable electric trikes we’ve tested, but it still comes with a surprising number of useful features. The reverse throttle makes maneuvering easier, the cargo baskets add real practicality, and the assist levels are spaced well for new riders and experienced riders alike.
The TK2 also performed well in our testing, delivering solid full-power range, strong braking results, and enough hill climbing ability for everyday riding, errands, and moderate cargo loads.
It is not perfect. We’d like to see a more precise battery readout, and we noticed a few minor inconsistencies in motor power delivery during testing. But overall, the TK2 feels like a meaningful improvement over Mooncool’s earlier trike and a strong value for riders looking for an affordable, approachable electric trike.
