A father and his two adult daughters were shot after three masked, armed men broke into their family home in Toronto's Bridle Path neighbourhood in the middle of the night.
Police say the suspects forced their way in through a rear door, armed with handguns and a hammer, and demanded valuables. The mother was also injured, and two members of the family were left with life-altering injuries.
A family should be safe in their own home. Instead, they were attacked in the middle of the night by people who showed up armed and prepared to shoot. We've had enough of these home invasions, and enough of criminals who feel bold enough to walk into a family's house because they don't believe anything will happen to them.
That boldness comes from a justice system that too often fails to deliver real consequences. When criminals aren't afraid of the penalty, they keep escalating.
This video also argues that people should have the right to do whatever they believe is necessary to eliminate the threat when someone invades their home. If you're inside your own home and armed intruders walk in, the law should be on your side, not theirs.
This is about family safety, accountability, and a justice system that needs to stop putting criminals first.
At some point, we have to decide whether families or the people who attack them deserve our protection.
