Window treatments are one of my absolute favorite subjects and also one of the most misunderstood. 😬 Here is the thing most people don't know: every single window treatment is designed with a return. That means the fabric is meant to go from the pleat in the front all the way back to the wall. When you hang them backwards you are showing the raw unfinished edge to the entire room and it looks exactly as bad as it sounds.
Flip them the right way and suddenly you see a beautiful finished pleat from every angle — clean, intentional and polished. That one fix alone will transform how your curtains look. And then while you are at it... hang them high, hang them wide, and for the love of everything please iron them. 🙏 I use grommet curtains because with the right designer tricks you won't even see the hardware, just the most gorgeous even pleats you have ever seen.
