Under threat of being sued, the city of Bessemer has released the non-disclosure agreement that its elected mayor signed with the developer of a massive and controversial $14.5 billion data center. Bessemer officials and the developer have been tight-lipped about Project Marvel.

QTS Data Centers, a Virginia-based data center company, will operate Project Marvel. The campus will have 18 buildings spanning 4.5 million square feet, and will use up to 130,000 gallons of municipal water per day, per its new agreement with the Warrior River Water Authority. Alabama Power will supply its electricity needs: 1,200 megawatts of power.
