UUFO and Chris Burke join forces for ‘Control’, arriving October 30th on Smash The House! Drawing together fractured rhythms, warped synthesis and darker shades of house, the collaboration explores the relationship between repetition, rhythm and the influence of music on the mind.
“Control your mind” emerges through glitched vocal manipulations, as spiralling synth sequences and strangely celestial melodies introduce an atmosphere of technological distortion. Metallic frequencies and electronically altered tones create a distinctly futuristic character, before the beat develops into a pronounced two-step motion. Jagged percussion and irregular rhythmic accents bring a more confrontational edge, with layers of sound overlapping, interrupting and mutating as the arrangement gathers intensity.
Ghostly vocal echoes drift through the production before “let the beat control your mind” returns as an almost subliminal instruction to surrender to the rhythm. Tangled, laser-sharp synthlines collide with distorted bass and calcified melodic passages, combining the much deeper characteristics of contemporary house with the heightened intensity of mainstage music. Dense, dark and experimenting to the future with unconventional sound design. while maintaining a powerful dancefloor presence – make sure you get your hands on this release October 30th!
