Description
Arianna Powell is a Los Angeles–based live and session guitarist, songwriter and educator. She plays guitar for Olivia Rodrigo and has worked with Halsey, Dua Lipa, the Black Eyed Peas and many others. Arianna’s style ranges from folk and Americana through jazz and R&B to rock and indie. Her approach is creative and modern: she blends melody, chords and rhythm into fresh textures and memorable parts. Her Tonalic content features electric and acoustic guitars, including rubber-bridge acoustics and baritone models: tasteful, song-serving parts that sit right in a modern production.
In this video, Arianna explores her Orangewood Juniper, a rubber-bridge guitar in the style pioneered by luthier Reuben Cox of Old Style Guitar Shop in LA. Strung with flatwounds and fitted with a rubber bridge that dampens the strings, it delivers a warm, muted, percussive tone. Arianna discusses how she uses it in singer-songwriter sessions, lo-fi productions, and solo arrangements, and why it has become a unique addition to her collection.
