In this video I’m sharing the cutting out process for my colour-blocked Closet Core Jenna Shirt, made using four different colourways of our striped cotton double gauze fabric.
I absolutely love a colour-blocked garment, and in this video I talk through how I planned the layout of the different colours and worked out which pattern pieces to cut from each fabric to create a balanced design.
Along the way, I also share lots of useful hints and tips for sewing with double gauze fabric, including handling, pressing and cutting techniques that can make working with this soft, textured fabric much easier. I’ll also show you the finished Jenna Shirt and chat about why I think double gauze works so beautifully for relaxed shirt sewing projects.
