Whenever you think about Gandalf the Grey's death, at the hands of Durin's Bane ontop of the Misty Mountains, we always remember that he came back as Gandalf the White. And if you dig a bit deeper beneath J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings, and look for the real origins of the wizards (aka the Istari), then you'll sure to find that they weren't wizards at all, but a group of lesser gods known as Maiar from the kingdom of Valinor. But... that still doesnt' really answer, how exactly did Gandalf come back to life? And why was he so much powerful in his new form. Today, we're going to answer that!
