In Peter Jackson's original Lord of the Ring's trilogy, we see Gandalf and Saruman spar in Orthanc, and Saruman ultimately snatches Gandalf's staff from his hand, and dual-wields the two weapons. But in the Silmarillion, and the other books from Middle-Earth, that move doesn't really make that much sense. Today, we're going to look at why wizards don't just walk around the roads between the Shire and Mordor with a few extra staff's on their pack pony's back.
