Three meadow bugs end up on my Venus flytraps, moving across the traps, feeding around the leaves and exploring the carnivorous plants in 4K macro.
I follow all three insects as they clean themselves, move between traps and wander around the trigger hairs. Some moments are delicate and almost calm, while others turn into proper close calls as the flytraps begin to react.
One of the bugs eventually gets caught with part of its body still outside the trap, creating one of the strangest little Venus flytrap captures I have filmed. Because this is a partial flytrap capture, I gently release the insect and also show it safely returned to the garden at the end of the video.
