Testing hair effects for "Quinn Redshift".
The Cleopatra hair was especially a challenge as it had a tendency to pop inside the character's ear and get stuck.
The 80s side-ponytail tended to pop inside the scrunchie, as well.
Learning how to do these things has really helped me grow as an animator.
Also, hawt chicks.
The effect is done using 3DS MAX's Cloth modifier; it has photo-real hair built in as an effect, but it doesn't work well with the toon-shaded style.
