PRS Just Trolled Fender With Its Latest Defender Guitar Model

ADDICTED TO GEAR Guide 1 months ago

Description

PRS recently launched the limited-edition Defender, and the name alone immediately raises an eyebrow.

Why? Because Fender and PRS have already had their share of controversy surrounding Strat-style guitar designs, including cease-and-desist action involving PRS models. So when PRS releases another unmistakably Strat-inspired guitar and calls it the Defender, it’s hard not to wonder whether there’s a little more going on here.

In this video, I break down the PRS Defender, the timing of the release, the limited-edition strategy, the connection to Fender, and why this guitar might be one of the more interesting moves PRS has made recently.

Is the Defender simply a collaboration and a clever product name, or is PRS having a little fun at Fender’s expense?

And once the limited run is gone, could the Defender become a permanent reminder of one of the strangest chapters in the PRS vs. Fender story?

Let me know what you think in the comments.
