Description
Is the Enya Inspire Smart Guitar the ultimate practice guitar? In this Enya Inspire review, I take a close look at Enya Music’s carbon fiber electric guitar with a built-in speaker, onboard effects, AI-generated guitar tones, USB recording and a companion mobile app.
The Enya Inspire guitar looks and feels surprisingly similar to a traditional electric guitar, with an HSS pickup configuration, 24 frets, two-point tremolo and a full-size electric guitar feel. But hidden inside is an entire smart guitar ecosystem designed to let you pick up the guitar and start playing without connecting an amp or pedalboard.
In this review, I take a closer look at:
• Enya Inspire build quality and carbon fiber composite construction
• HSS pickups and pickup switching
• 24-fret neck, fretwork and overall playability
• Built-in 15W speaker and onboard guitar effects
• AI-generated guitar tones and presets
• Enya Music mobile app
• Amp models, delay, reverb, chorus, tremolo and vibrato
• Noise gate settings and note sustain
• Feedback issues when using the built-in speaker
• USB-C recording and headphone output
• Backing tracks, drums, tuner, metronome and chord tools
• Stem separation and practice features
• Where the Enya Inspire falls short
• Who I think this smart guitar is actually designed for
The technology is interesting, but what surprised me most was the guitar itself. The Inspire feels much more like a proper electric guitar than a gadget.
That doesn't mean it's perfect.
The onboard sounds and amp selection are relatively limited, and I experienced some issues balancing the noise gate against sustain and feedback. For more advanced players looking for deep amp modeling and effects editing, there are definitely limitations.
But as a practice guitar, the Enya Inspire starts to make a lot of sense.
You can pick it up, turn it on and start playing—no amp, pedalboard or complicated setup required. Add the Enya app, AI presets, backing tools and practice features, and you've got a guitar designed to remove many of the excuses we have for not practicing.
So is the Enya Inspire Smart Guitar worth buying, and is this the future of guitar practice?
Watch the full review and decide for yourself.
If you've tried the Enya Inspire, let me know what you think in the comments. Would you choose a smart guitar like this over a traditional electric guitar and practice amp?
