Origami Train from Half a Sheet of Printer Paper - Modified Version of Mooser Train from 1965!🚂🚂

Description

How to fold an origami Mooser Train from half of a sheet of printer paper. The first origami train was designed by Emmanuel Mooser in 1965. It was one of the first boxpleated origami models. It was from one rectangle of paper but it did involve making a single slit so that the smoke stack was not right at the front of the train. For many years there was only a rough crease pattern for people to follow, so the model was largely inaccessible to folders. In 2003 Robert Lang featured it in his book Origami Design Secrets, and redid the crease pattern making it more clear. Origamists started folding it after that and adapted it to the current aesthetic of no cutting. Mike Jittlov managed to fold it from a single dollar bill. He also made key improvements to the model by narrowing the connectors between the train cars and figuring out how to enlarge the wheels. My main improvement is making the smoke stack taller, but I also figured out the step by step folding sequence that that doesn't require making an initial grid and is flexible in that it will work from any dimension rectangle of paper as long as it is 3X7 or longer.

I also have a tutorial for the Mooser Train from a dollar bill, which you can fold here: https://youtu.be/cVwNQv_KxG0.
I hope that these tutorials will further make this amazing and historical origami model accessible to many more origamists around the world.
