The finesse jig is one of those bass fishing tools that tournament anglers quietly keep around because it can do almost everything—and now there’s a new-school way to fish it. In this video I break down several different finesse jig styles, including the Cast Again Ringer and Tap Out, Randy Blaukat’s Cumberland Pro Throwback Power Finesse Jig and the new Z-Man TRD Finesse Jig, plus the trailers and modifications I use for late fall and winter bass fishing. The really sneaky part is the drop-jig technique that Bassmaster and BASS OPEN anglers helped popularize: instead of only dragging a jig traditionally, you can use forward-facing sonar to pitch a finesse jig over a suspended bass, drop it through the fish and let that bass follow it to the bottom almost like open-water flipping.
