A new runic inscription carved into a wooden object has been discovered at the Medieval Park in Oslo, Norway. The find dates to around 1200 CE and was uncovered in the same area where a knife handle shaped like a king with a falcon was previously found.
This discovery adds to a growing number of runic finds from the site, including a large bone and a wooden stick with runic inscriptions uncovered during excavations in December 2021. Together, these finds provide valuable insight into everyday writing, symbolism, and communication in medieval Scandinavia.
