Description

He was in Ukraine 24 hours before he died. Lindsey Graham passed away on July 11th at the age of 71 from what's being described as a brief, sudden illness, and Lindsey Graham's cause of death has not yet been confirmed. But as a doctor, I can tell you what kills people this fast. Sudden cardiac death accounts for 356,000 out-of-hospital deaths in America every year. Only one in ten people survive it. And then there are blood clots. One person dies from a blood clot in the U.S. every six minutes. Long travel, like an overseas trip, puts you at real risk. A clot can form in the leg, break free, travel to the lungs, and cause what's called a saddle pulmonary embolism. That can kill you before you reach a hospital. Senator Graham appeared healthy. No chronic illness had been reported. And just like that, he was gone. This is why knowing your risk factors matters.
