On Friday evening in Toronto I got asked to do the land acknowledgment before a silent walk/vigil in honour of Palestinian women.
"We acknowledge that the action we are taking today, a silent walk in honour of Palestinian women, is taking place on Turtle Island, home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. From Turtle Island to Palestine, and everywhere else, we need total liberation now. We support ending capitalism and creating a non-oppressive utopia. That means free food, water, housing, health care, internet, and public transportation for everyone. Together, we can create a world where all beings, human and other than human, are happy, safe, and free."
