This is a trailer for the pending production of a documentary film called “Red Sea: Vietnam’s Modern Disaster.” The film will be directed by independent filmmaker and exiled Vietnamese activist Thuc Pham and produced by writer and award-winning producer Nancy Bui. The film will begin with portraits of Vietnamese activists who organized public protests and helped victims file a lawsuit against the company, demanding fair compensation and clean-up of polluted areas. Many of these activists were later jailed. The film will also expand beyond Vietnam, sharing the experiences of victims and activists from Formosa-affected communities in Texas, Louisiana, China, and Taiwan.
