June 3, 1988 - After eliminating the Boston Celtics in six games, Detroit Pistons guard Isiah Thomas took a moment to speak with CBS' Jim O'Brien on the satisfaction that came with earning a trip to the NBA Finals for fellow teammate Adrian Dantley.

These comments are of particular note considering that Dantley would be traded to the Dallas Mavericks midway through the following season in a move that was rumored to have been supported by Thomas himself. Following Dantley's departure, the Pistons went on to win back-to-back championships in 1989 and 1990.

Back in '88, the Pistons fell seconds short of earning their first NBA championship. Both Thomas & Dantley excelled in the series before a severely sprained ankle limited Thomas in Game 7, resulting in a 108-105 Lakers win.
