DULL PENNIES, NO LUSTRE
A character from my main story project, Tiger crawl home aka the only thing I make videos about. Lustre is a harpy, a species I updated recently. The gist is that they were created from Icthyocentaurs, an early world species that was split into harpies, centaurs & merfolk for the crimes of Eyto (crime being an unspecified massive event where they pissed off the gods enough to have their whole species erased). Harpies are intellectuals, researchers & scholars in many different subjects, but they are also fervent about micromanaging their own emotions out of existence. Harpies refuse to let anyone in their home fuck up that bad and thus they all compartmentalize negative attributes into non existence, ascribing them different body parts in a kind of punishment caste. If you commit bad actions then you have Eyto's hands, if you're biased or hypocritical you have Eyto's eyes and so on.
Lustre was an ambitious harpy, she wanted to study Godscales, a phenomena in which scales fall from the major gods and land on the ground. Normally this creates a minor god, a new being based off the area with minor creation abilities, there have been cases of others catching godscales and turning themselves into minor gods, however. Harpies normally pick one specific idea to study and are allowed out on excursions to the outside world to pursue them, their only allowance outside of Harpy home. Lustre was quickly deemed as having Too many of Eyto's parts to be allowed outside. Their refusal to take this lying down lead to further punishment. She couldn't be sorted into any group, not Eyto's hands, not their tongue, not their mind. Their whole self was too unacceptable so Fountain took it upon herself to caste Lustre into complete isolation with magic.
The standards harpies set for themselves is almost impossible, most harpies carry a trait of Eyto and that is generally accepted, with the caveat that it is a temporary issue. Lustre is similar to Damian in that their reactions to conflict are just to lean into the behavior more out of spite / self defense. It doesn't tend to go well for either of them.
Also I'm working on a Hollyleaf warrior cats pmv and when that drops you will realize I ripped Lustre from my interpretation of her haha.
