Description
Hello, this is a video introducing the hand construction from Bridgman's Definitive Guide to Drawing From Life, and probably the 4 most important pages in the book. These pages give some depth and insight into the reason Bridgman taught the figure the way that he did and how much depth he built into the courses. His courses were some of the first to dig into the mechanics of the human being, a first of its kind. In addition, he added depth by giving historical context to the depiction of the hand as it was portrayed by many cultures, and by many artists. I have added many artists that were either students of Bridgman, or significant artists during the golden age of illustration.
The full video will be out later this week, packed with information and demonstrations to help you study hands from this guide. This chapter is in my opinion, the most significant and important chapter in the book and on this subject, and more complete than any other anatomy book covering the topic.

If you'd like to join the Discord channel, this is where there is a great growing community of artists sharing their work and helping each other learn how to make art. They are now meeting once a week doing a live drawing class from images, timing them and having a conversation about what they are doing together. They are definitely inspiring me to continue growing the content and growing the community in whatever way I can. Thank you all for participating and pushing each other, as well as pushing me on.
