One of my favorite ways to decorate with vintage finds is by giving them a new purpose! Today, I’m turning a vintage candle votive holder into a decorative match striker using a box of long matches from HomeGoods.
For this easy DIY home decor project, I cut the striker strip from the original matchbox and attached it to the vintage votive using hot glue. I specifically chose hot glue because the attachment isn’t permanent, allowing me to remove it and repurpose the candle holder again in the future.
This is such a simple way to combine vintage home decor with everyday functionality. I love finding creative ways to repurpose thrifted and vintage pieces instead of always using them for their original purpose.
