How to diagnose a wall plug that doesn’t work

spelunkerd Guide 4 months ago

Description

This short video shows a way to help verify that a wall receptacle with no incoming power is caused by a tripped GFCI, even if the upstream GFCI cannot be found. Discriminating viewers will note that many AFCI breakers will also interrupt the neutral wire, and they are sometimes used in series with GFCI's. However diagnosis for AFCI's is usually easy because most AFCI's are located in or very near to the panel itself.
