How Race Swaps Tackled Racism & Inequality | After being exposed to the complex societal problems in Matt Reeves' The Batman through the relevant perspective of Catwoman and The Riddler, Bruce Timm was able to use Batman: Caped Crusader to highlight intersectionality and its connections to systemic oppression, providing a relevant perspective on complex social problems. And doing that meant using their new approach to representation, by reimagining iconic characters like Barbara Gordon and Harley Quinn as women of color.
