The REAL Reason DISNEY Bought the X-MEN || Since the X-Men were created to be an allegory for racism, marginalization, and social persecution, why would Disney turn that allegory into marketable fandom identity? Why would they use fan-driven marketing, symbolic meaning, and “Hogwarts-style” identity to turn stories of resistance into something more capitalistic? Unfortunately, thanks to the likes of Harry Potter and Twilight, the answers to my questions regarding the MCU’s Mutant Saga involve both fandom polarization and cultural appropriation.
