Did you know you can combine linoleum carving with your Gelli Arts® Gel Printing Plate?
🎨 Here are 3 simple techniques to get you started:
by: Artist Emily Sharp
On a recent creative retreat I co-hosted in Greece, we carved linoleum blocks inspired by the nature all around us. When I got home, I wanted those creative memories to live on, so I pulled out my Gelli Arts® 5”x7” Gel Printing Plate and experimented with three different ways to print using the same carving.
💙 A two-tone print using blue ink on blue paper—subtle, classic, and a beautiful reminder of the Aegean Sea.
🇬🇷 A two-color print with more defined lines that brings me right back to making art together on the island.
🐚 A reverse-painted print inspired by the shells, rocks, and colors we discovered along the beach.
I love how one carving can create three completely different results. That’s one of my favorite things about gel printing!
