In my crochet tutorial today I’ll be showing you how to make this crochet swallow applique.

For this pattern you will need any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Catona cotton colors (201) Electric Blue, (106) Snow White, (393) Charcoal and (115) Hot Red. A crochet hook, I used a 2.5mm hook. A darning needle to weave in ends. Blue thread to stitch the bird together and black thread to embroider on an eye and a pair of scissors.
The finished size will be 10cm wide x 8cm high (3.75” wide x 3” high) for the larger swallow, using 8 ply crochet cotton. The size of the swallow in Catona will be 7cm wide x 6.5cm high (3” wide x 2.75” high). The medium swallow will be 5.5cm wide x 5cm high (2.25” wide x 2” high) when using 4 ply crochet cotton. The small swallow will be 4.5cm wide x 4cm high (1.75” wide x 1.5” high) when using 2 ply crochet cotton.
