In my crochet tutorial today I’ll be showing you how to make this crochet baby seal applique.

For this pattern you will need any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Catona cotton colours (106) Snow White and (110) Black. A crochet hook, I used a 2.5mm hook. A darning needle to weave in ends. Thread and needle to stitch the seal together and white thread to embroider dots in the centre of the eyes. Black and red thread for embroidery and a pair of scissors.
The finished size will be 9cm wide x 9cm high (3.5” wide x 3.5” high) for the larger baby seal, using 8 ply crochet cotton. The size of the baby seal in Catona will be 10cm wide x 10cm high (4” wide x 4” high). The medium baby seal will be 8cm wide x 8cm high (3” wide x 3” high) when using 4 ply crochet cotton. The small baby seal will be 5cm wide x 5cm high (2” wide x 2” high) when using 2 ply crochet cotton.
