In my crochet tutorial today I’ll be showing you how to make this crochet small bird applique.

For this pattern you will need any thickness crochet cotton or yarn, I used Scheepjes Catona cotton colours (208) Yellow Gold and (254) Moon Rock. A crochet hook, I used a 2.5mm hook. A darning needle to weave in ends. Thread and needle to stitch the bird together and black thread to embroider on the eye and a pair of scissors.
The finished size will be 8cm wide x 7cm high (3” wide x 2.75” high) for the larger bird, using 8 ply crochet cotton. The size of the small bird in Catona will be 8cm wide x 7cm high (3” wide x 2.75” high). The medium bird will be 6cm wide x 5.5cm high (2.5” wide x 2” high) when using 4 ply crochet cotton. The small bird will be 4.5cm wide x 4cm high (1.75” wide x 1.5” high) when using 2 ply crochet cotton.
