Ingredients:
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon table salt
1 ½ cups sugar, plus ⅓ cup for rolling
2 oz. cream cheese, cut into pieces
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted and still warm
⅓ cup vegetable oil
1 large egg
1 tablespoon milk
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Direction:
1. Whisk flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl; set aside. Place 1½ cups sugar and cream cheese in a large mixing bowl. Pour warm butter over sugar and cream cheese and whisk to combine. Whisk in oil just until combined. Add egg, milk, and vanilla; continue to whisk until smooth. Add flour mixture and mix until dough forms.
2. Spoon 2 tablespoons of dough and shape into a ball, then roll in the remaining 1/3 cup of sugar. repeat the process with the rest of the dough. Place dough balls in a parchment lined baking sheet. Gently press the dough balls down with the bottom of a glass until they are about 2 inches in diameter. Each cookie should be about 2 inches apart. Sprinkle tops evenly with remaining sugar. Bake in a preheated oven at 350F for 11 minutes, or until edges are golden, rotating baking sheets halfway through baking. Cool cookies on baking sheets 5 minutes. Then transfer cookies to wire rack and cool completely.
