BMW Parking Assistant in Operating System X | BMW How-To

BMW USA Guide 2 months ago

Description

Learn how to use BMW Parking Assistant with BMW Operating System X for easy parallel and perpendicular parking. Your BMW can help identify available spaces and automatically steer, accelerate and brake during the parking maneuver.

Find a Parking Space
BMW Parking Assistant scans for suitable parking spaces around and ahead of your vehicle while driving at speeds of up to 20 mph.

Press the Parking Assistant button on the steering wheel to open Assistance View. Your BMW displays detected vehicles and available parallel or perpendicular spaces, including spaces in front of the vehicle.

Start Parking
Select your preferred parking space and choose whether to park in reverse or forward. Press OK on the steering wheel or Start on the Central Information Display to begin.

Release the brake and remove your hands from the steering wheel. BMW Parking Assistant takes over steering, acceleration and braking to park your vehicle.

Stay in Control
Remain attentive throughout the parking maneuver. You can use the brake to slow down; accelerating or steering will interrupt Parking Assistant.

The camera view is automatically selected to support the maneuver and can be changed at any time. Once parking is complete, your BMW automatically engages Park.

Maneuver Out of a Space
When returning to your BMW, shift into reverse. If you parked in a parallel space or pulled forward into a perpendicular space, your BMW can suggest maneuvering out. Select OK to begin.

Enjoy easy parking and continue watching our How-To series to get the most out of your BMW.
