Description
Learn how to adjust BMW climate control settings in BMW Operating System X for a comfortable interior in every season.
Precondition Your BMW
For a comfortable interior before you get in, activate preconditioning in the Climate menu under Additional Settings. When possible, precondition your BMW while charging to help save driving energy.
Use Automatic Climate Control
For everyday comfort, keep climate control in AUTO mode with AC switched on. Your BMW automatically regulates temperature and airflow, prioritizing warm air in the footwell and cooler air in the upper cabin.
Adjust the temperature or airflow strength if needed, and choose direct or indirect airflow at the air vents based on your preference.
Stay Cool in Summer
In warmer weather, open all air vents and select the direct setting, or manually direct airflow toward your upper body while the interior cools down. Once your selected temperature is reached, your BMW automatically reduces airflow.
To help reduce warmth from the panoramic roof, manually adjust the air vents above your head.
Stay Warm in Winter
When it is cold outside, activate seat heating and steering wheel heating for faster comfort if they are not already active in AUTO mode. In Additional Climate Settings, you can select the surface heating intensity level.
For warm feet and a clear view, automatic climate control directs warm airflow to the footwell and supports windshield defrosting. Airflow is automatically reduced once the selected temperature is reached.
